This course starts with an introduction to the fundamentals of hydraulic theory as it relates to water distribution modelling, and then progresses to more complex subjects like working with multiple scenarios and alternatives, model calibration, pump selection, energy and cost studies, extended-period simulation, fire flow analysis, identifying critical links or shortfalls within a water system, and pipe renewal planning. Students will become familiar with WaterGEMS and use the programme to perform case studies to reinforce concepts. Users will learn about software applications because WaterGEMS capabilities are consistent throughout this course. Live training sessions feature lots of interaction.
